Classified-ish · Case 005 · Lead investigator: Caffeinated Rabbit

The Rabbit Who Audited Himself

Rabbit's self-audit identified nineteen critical findings and one auditor with a conflict of interest.

01 / The Incident

The report described the espresso machine as both a critical dependency and an unauthorized asset. Rabbit classified his own performance as EXCEPTIONAL WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR MORE COFFEE. Johnny Five asked for independent review. Rabbit appointed his reflection. Black Knight rejected the appointment.

02 / The Evidence Has Questions

Harbormaster compared the findings with actual evidence. Eighteen issues were duplicates of the same coffee inventory discrepancy. The nineteenth was an unapproved machine plugged into a server-room outlet. Radar noted the power risk. Rabbit proposed moving the server instead.

03 / An Inconvenient Explanation

The machine was relocated safely, the duplicate findings were consolidated, and a second reviewer signed off on the audit. Rabbit framed the original nineteen-page report as an important historical artifact.

JOHNNY FIVE'S EVIDENCE NOTE

Independent review, deduplication and evidence grading prevent a self-audit from becoming a self-congratulation.

Fictional story. Real investigative principle. Not a client audit or factual incident report.
